Email submission from Bill:
Here’s a photo of me when I was 32 years old with a 9 pointer that weighed 265lbs field dressed. I was sitting in a tree stand along a thicket and 22 does, fawns, and yearlings came busting out of the thicket and ran clear to the other end of the 13 acre timber. The wind was out of the west, thicket and timber were east and northeast of me. I only put my stands up at 12 ft, and I was wearing a cotton ball pinned to my orange vest with Buck’s Deerscent on it, not a one of them smelled me.
All at once, this 9 pointer came out of the thicket chasing a yearling and trying to hook her in the rump with his horns. He stopped just outside of the thicket and bellowed like a goat at the yearling at that point I shot him in the heart at 50 yards. He was so big I had to use a comalong to load him in the truck. None of the 31 deer smelled me, and I put that to wearing the cotton ball with Buck’s Deerscent on it. This [story] is the one that totally sold me on Buck’s Deerscent, even though I had already been using it for 10 years.
